Kids Connection Monthly Verse for April
Now this is eternal life: that they know you the only true God, and Jesus Christ, whom you have sent.  John 17:3

The Big God Story for April 2nd – Jesus is King (Triumphal Entry)
The people of Israel were crying out for a king. As Jesus rode into Jerusalem the people celebrated while they shouted, “Hosanna, Hosanna!” This cry was a cry for salvation. It was a plea to be rescued. Jesus rode into the city as a King who was coming to rescue His people. He came not as a political savior, but as the One who redeems us from our sins.

Blessing: Children, may you always know that Jesus is King every day and every night.

The Big God Story for April 9th and 16th – Jesus is Alive (Easter)
From the very beginning, God had a plan to send a Savior. When the time was right, God the Son came to earth as a man and died on a cross for our sins. After three days, He rose from the grave. Jesus is Alive!

Blessing: Children, Jesus is alive! May you know His great love for you today and always.

The Big God Story for April 23rd and 30th – Jesus is the Good News (The Great Commission)
Before Jesus ascended to heaven, He met with His apostles on a mountain in Galilee. The Lord commissioned the apostles to spread the good news to all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit.

Blessing: Children, may you know that Jesus is the Good News!

The Big God Story – Jesus is King (Palm Sunday) Matthew 21:1-11; John 12:12-19
Jesus is the King of Kings. He is the King over everything because He is God! The Israelites had expected for so long that the Messiah would be a warrior king, and they wanted Him to save them from the Romans. And Jesus did come to save them, but not from the Romans. He had a bigger plan. Jesus came to save people by dying on the cross for their sins and rising again. He came to save people from death! He came to bring them into relationship with God.

April 16th
It’s Easter Sunday! HE IS RISEN! All Kids Connection (Spiritual Formation & 2nd Service)-Elementary children will be joining their families in “big church”.

April 23rd
The Big God Story – God is Love (Nicodemus’s Question) John 2:23-25; 3:1-21
The Bible never specifically tells us that Nicodemus decided to follow Jesus, but we can see that Nicodemus’s encounter with Jesus changed his life. Later in the book of John, Nicodemus spoke up for Jesus before all the other Pharisees. Then, after Jesus died, Nicodemus helped take Jesus’ body and prepare it to be buried. Nicodemus risked his reputation and humbled himself to serve the Messiah he had come to love. He did this
because He knew that God is love.

The Holy Spirit gives us new life so we can become God’s children. This is such good news—and it’s what The Big God Story is allabout! Because God loved the world, He sent His Son, Jesus, to save us.

April 30th
The Big God Story – Jesus is Compassionate (Feeding of the 5,000) Matthew 14:13-23; John 6:1-15
Jesus had compassion that was more than just feeling sad for the people. He had compassion that made it impossible for Him not to serve the people. Jesus is God, and He is filled with God’s Spirit. God’s Spirit also gives us compassion for others.
