The Big God Story for February 5th and 12th – Jesus Cares (Feeding the 5,000)
Jesus cared so much for the people and wanted them to eat. He held the food up to heaven and asked God to bless the food. Jesus started to break up the food and put it into baskets. The baskets kept filling up. There was so much food! The disciples passed out the food to five thousand
people. Wow, that’s a lot of people! Jesus made sure there was enough food for everyone. There was even food left in the basket. Jesus had done a miracle!
Blessing: (Child’s name), Jesus cares about you.
The Big God Story for February 19th and 26th – Jesus is Powerful (Healing of the Blind Man)
The man couldn’t see when he was a baby. He couldn’t see when he was a little boy or when he grew to be a man. But on one
special day everything changed. The man met Jesus. Jesus spit in the dirt to make mud. He rubbed the mud on the blind man’s
eyes. hen Jesus said, “Go and wash the mud off of your eyes.” So the man washed with water just like Jesus told him to do. The
man could see! He wasn’t blind anymore! He could see all of the colors around him. He could see animals, trees, and sunshine.
And, best of all, he could see Jesus! He could see everything. Jesus healed the man’s eyes. Jesus is powerful!
Blessing: Children, may you know that Jesus is more powerful than anyone or anything.

The Big God Story – God Blesses (Solomon, Part 1) 1 Kings 1-6
God was pleased that Solomon had asked for wisdom, so God blessed Solomon with more wisdom than any other person on earth. God’s blessings didn’t stop with Solomon. God blessed all of His people, the Israelites, with land, plenty of food, and rest from their enemies. After hundreds of years of slavery in Egypt, 40 years of wandering in the wilderness, and many years of fighting, God blessed His people abundantly and gave them rest.
God loves us and pours His blessings into our lives. We can’t do anything to earn them, and we don’t need to try harder in order to receive them. We can’t do anything to make God love us more or less. We can’t earn God’s love or take credit for working hard when God blesses us because it all flows out of His love.
The Big God Story – God is Trustworthy (Solomon, Part 2) 1 Kings 7-11
Sadly, King Solomon eventually disobeyed God and allowed people to worship false gods. Solomon even built altars to false gods and offered sacrifices to them. How sad! Solomon had been blessed with so much! How could he turn away from God? God did as He had warned. He took His presence from the temple and His protection from the people. The nation split in two. But God is trustworthy and remembered His covenant with David. He protected the nation of Judah, where King David had ruled, and where the Messiah would come from one day.
We can always trust God to keep His promises and to care about every area of our lives. He is the only one we can count on all the time. God is trustworthy.
The Big God Story – God is Faithful (John the Baptist) Isaiah 40:3, Matthew 3
Today we’re going to hear about a man named John. John did things pretty differently from others. He ate locusts, or bugs kind of like grasshoppers, wore clothes made out of camel’s hair, and lived in the wilderness. But God used him to give a very important message to Israel.
God promised a long time ago to send the Redeemer, Jesus, to restore mankind’s relationship with God. And even though thousands of years had passed, God kept that promise because He is faithful. God made the way for us to be forgiven of our sins and to be with Him forever.
