Past short term mission trips from SLC

  1. Louisiana 2005

SLC was able to serve in the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina by sending several teams to Louisiana. The teams cut and cleared trees and prayed with residents that where devastated by the disaster.

  2. Honduras 2019
    January 26 - February 2, 2019

A team went to serve in Honduras at Camp Caly, a respite facility for local pastors and their families, as well as a retreat destination for local Honduran churches. The team served alongside Tim and Julie Nelson, a missionary partner of SLC.

  3. Alaska 2019
    June 18-26, 2019

A team went to Alaska to serve alongside Steve and Jill Horsman, who work with InterAct Ministries. With the Lord’s help the team accomplished many tasks: installing 26 new windows and a beautiful wood floor in one of the ministry buildings, landscaping and outside cleanup work, and a solid start on a new trail for prayer walking.

  4. Honduras 2020
    February 26 - March 4, 2020

A team served at Camp Caly, finishing a third house. The team was able to complete the electric, build cabinets, and install and paint the drywall. Many of the team members were also able to visit local children they support through Compassion International.

  5. Honduras 2022
    March 26 - April 2, 2022

A team returned to Camp Caly in Honduras to frame and roof a new building, a motel-style structure with 8 rooms. The building provides flexibility for Camp Caly to serve small groups and individuals and couples retreats. The team also built and installed 2 additional septic systems to meet expanding guest capacity, and completed cabinetry in Cabin 3. Also, the team participated in a dedication of camp board, honoring years of commitment to missions by naming Cabin 3 "Jacob's Ladder" after the late Jake Kaldenberger, a beloved member of SLC.

  6. Kenya 2022
    October 1-13, 2022

This marks the first team from SLC to visit Kenya. When the team visited, they were welcomed by beautiful people, excited fellow believers, and God’s amazing, gorgeous creation along the Indian Ocean as well as on safari. But for the team, the barrenness was just as captivating. In the surrounding villages of Mombasa, they saw the destitution and hopelessness that people living without Jesus experience on a daily basis. The goal for their trip was to encourage the local pastors, share the gospel, and cultivate relationships for future work with Gideon and Joy Banda and Renewal Project Africa. God allowed them to accomplish all three goals. They cleared land for a future church building, made bricks and prepared the floor for two other churches. They also saw about a dozen people come to know Jesus and passed out hundreds of gospel bracelets!
