What are services like?
Our desire as we gather each week is to worship the Lord Jesus. Our services are warm, engaging, friendly, energetic gatherings where we declare God’s greatness through music, preaching and teaching, praying together, and through living life together in community.
Whether you are a life-long church attendee or someone who is just beginning to question what Jesus is all about, there is a place for you at Southern Lakes Church! We are privileged to have two worship gatherings each Sunday. Our sanctuary holds approximately 250 people and in our style of worship we sing everything from songs you may have heard on the radio last week to songs written last century. All are welcome as we gather!
Kids Connection for Nursery and preschool are offered at 8:30 am and 10:30 am every Sunday.
Where are you located?
Our address is N6686 US Hwy 12, Elkhorn WI 53121. The Church Location page will lead you to the church.
What can I expect as a first time guest?
We make every attempt to make you feel welcome at Southern Lakes Church. When you walk into the front doors, you will be greeted by a volunteer who offers a warm smile. You will find the Welcome Center in the corner of the Commons. If you need to know where to take your child or where the coatroom or restrooms are, you can ask one of our friendly greeters. It’s also the place to pick up a copy of the Bulletin that contains information about upcoming events.
Ushers are available to assist you with finding a seat and settling into the service. Don’t worry, we won’t ask you to stand as a first-time guest or embarrass you in any way. We view ourselves as a family, and invite you to join us!
The last Sunday of every month is Family Sunday, with a specific family focus. Services will be designed with family in mind. There will be worship and content that appeals to all ages so children can enjoy worshiping with their family. The sermon on those Sundays will focus on family issues and opportunities, and practical application will be given for families to take home with them.
What is available for my kids?
During the worship services we have age-appropriate activities for children from birth through 5th grade. Our care givers, teachers and leaders are prepared for your child to have the best possible experience each Sunday.
Do you have anything for Middle or High School students?
We believe it is important for students to be involved in worshiping God with all generations of the church body during Sunday Worship. However, we do have our GenerationT 6th-12th Grade Youth Ministry that meets every Wednesday as wall as a Sr. High Journey Group that meets Sunday nights!
Is there a place for me to grow?
We offer Journey Groups that meet throughout the week in many neighborhoods around Elkhorn. Also bible studies for men, women and youth are offered throughout the week. Please contact the church office for more details at firstname.lastname@example.org or 262-742-2366.
